SD: Material Determination

• Material determination is used for exchanging materials in sales documents.
• It follows condition technique.
• For material entered, we don’t need a material master record.
• There are two ways of material determination
• Manual Selection (shows list of all possible values)
• Automatic selection (It replace new item automatically)
• For material substitution reason (OVRQ), if we select outcome A, it carries product selection in delivery again.
• For material substitution reason (OVRQ), if we select outcome B, it copies product selection from order to delivery.

Substitution Reason (OVRQ)

• Path is SPRO->IMG->Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Material Determination->Define Substitution Reasons
• In substitutions reasons screen, first field is Substitution reason and sec field is its description.
• Check box 'Entry', indicates, if we want to print material entered on output (e.g. Order Confirmation)
• 'Warning' check box indicates, if we want to display a warning message before material substitution.
• 'Strategy' field has following vales: 'Blank': Material Substitution is automatic.
• 'Substitute products are displayed for selection': Material available for substitutions are displayed in a pop up window, and user can select from the window.
• 'General material determination with selection, without ATP'.
• 'Outcome' field has following values: 'Blank': Item entered will be replaced by substituted material.
• 'Substitution products are displayed as sub items’: it re determines material substitution in delivery.
• 'As in A but only when creating the item in Sales': All items are copied from order to delivery.
